The freestyle dance cypher that closed out the “New Narratives: Present and Future” event back in mid-August 2022. The aim was to create a space of welcome, belonging, joy, vibrancy, and strength. Having a cypher here brought greater visibility to our interconnected histories and current realities while offering more playful and empowering visions of our collective future.
A cypher, as opposed to a formal dance performance, allows the general public to experience, celebrate, and join in on an authentic and spontaneous presentation of various Street & Club dance-forms. It is a time and space to communicate your style, truth, and how you’re feeling NOW through the universal language of movement.
